Scholarships

ARCC offers scholarships to qualifying students. Below are descriptions and requirements for the music scholarships offered.

Scholarship applications are open during the months of:

October 2020

and

April 2021

 

To apply for a music scholarship, visit the link below, select the dropdown menu "Coon Rapids Campus Foundation Scholarships & Application" and continue as either a current or prospective student. From there select 

"sign in with your school account" and sign in using your Star ID.

Ellis Bergstrom Scholarship 

This scholarship is intended for a student pursuing an AFA-Music degree. All applicants must demonstrate (in their typed educational essay) that they have persevered in the face of a medical, physical, or other personal life challenge. Qualifying applicants must also be prepared to maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA while enrolled for a minimum of six credits per semester.

 

Scholarship Recipients will be expected to meet the following criteria to receive funds:

- Enroll in 6+ Coon Rapids Campus credits each semester

- Maintain a 2.0 GPA

 

 

AFA in Music

The ARCC Foundation Board of Directors provide a variety of scholarship opportunities.  This scholarship was established to recognize the academic achievement in the area of Music.

 

A scholarship recipient must be accountable to meeting the following criteria upon receiving the scholarship, and the recipient must meet all components below during each semester upon receiving a scholarship.

Recipients will be evaluated according to the course numbers for the music major program.

a. Enroll in a large ensemble and complete with a grade of a B or better (concert band, choir or string orchestra, guitar ensemble). Ensembles are course ID's 1106, 1107, 1108, 1149.

b. Enroll in Music Major lessons (2150, 2175) and

c. Enroll in music theory sequence (coreq for oral comprehension)

 

Scholarship Recipients will be expected to meet the following criteria to receive funds:

- Enroll in the required music curriculum as stated above and

- Maintain a 3.0 GPA

 

Ensemble Participant
