Scholarships

ARCC offers scholarships to qualifying students. Below are descriptions and requirements for the music scholarships offered. Music scholarship applications are open during the months of:

October and April



 

Ellis Bergstrom Memorial Scholarship $1000

This scholarship is intended for a student pursuing an AFA-Music degree. In a typed educational essay, all applicants must demonstrate that they have persevered in the face of a medical, physical, or other personal life challenge. Qualifying applicants must also be prepared to maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA while enrolled for a minimum of six credits per semester.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Enroll in 6+ Coon Rapids Campus credits each semester

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA

Academic AFA in Music Scholarship $1000

The ARCC Foundation Board of Directors provide a variety of scholarship opportunities.  This scholarship was established to recognize the academic achievement in the area of Music. The scholarship recipient must be accountable to meeting the following criteria upon receiving the scholarship, and the recipient must meet all components below during each semester upon receiving a scholarship. Recipients will be evaluated according to the course numbers for the music major program.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Enroll in a large ensemble and complete with a grade of B or better 

    • Concert Band (MUSC 1106); String Orchestra (MUSC 1107); Concert Choir (MUSC 1108); or Guitar Ensemble (MUSC 1149)​

  • Enroll in AFA Music Major Lessons (MUSC 2150 or MUSC 2175)

  • Enroll in Music Theory Sequence (corequisite for Aural Comprehension)

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA

Academic Ensemble Participant Scholarship $1000

The ARCC Foundation Board of Directors provide a variety of scholarship opportunities. A scholarship recipient must be accountable to meeting the following criteria each semester upon receiving the scholarship. Recipients will be evaluated according to the course numbers for the music major program. 

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Enroll in a large ensemble and complete with a grade of B or better 

    • Concert Band (MUSC 1106); String Orchestra (MUSC 1107); Concert Choir (MUSC 1108); or Guitar Ensemble (MUSC 1149)​

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA
