John Olson

Trombone instructor, received his B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Minnesota. He taught instrumental music in the Osseo, MN public school system for 36 years and during that time completed additional post-graduate work at Vandercook College in Chicago. He has been an active professional musician since 1973. He has recently performed and traveled in the United States with Keith Brion’s New Sousa Band. He has performed in England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Poland, and the Czech Republic with both the Lake Wobegon Brass Band and the Mississippi River Brass Band. In addition to these groups, John currently performs with Minneapolis/St. Paul groups Metro Brass, Victory Park Brass Quintet, Twin Cities Latin Jazz Orchestra, Cedar Avenue Big Band, Century Jazz Ensemble, Jerry O’Hagan Orchestra, Granite City Brass, and free-lance work.
