Is an auditioned vocal chamber ensemble consisting of 22 music majors and non-majors. Under the direction of Richard Joseph, these young men and women perform a wide variety of challenging repertoire, ranging from early Renaissance to contemporary works, including vocal jazz. The members of Chamber Singers are devoted to performing quality literature with the highest levels of sensitivity, musicality and artistry. Their repertoire is suited for vocal independence and is often performed a cappella. The Chamber Singers rehearse MW from 12:30-1:45. This course may be taken for 1 credit or no credit (free). Auditions for this ensemble will be held during the first week of classes each semester and include an interview, sight-singing, tonal memory, a solo excerpt, and range checks. Callbacks are schedule as needed.
